Dealer benefits of an experienced used car buyer
Anyone can read a pricing guide. Our edge is knowing when a guide number doesn't tell the whole story: spotting the scarce car nobody else is bidding on, and knowing which dealer on our roster actually needs it.
What your dealership gets
- Managers who stay on the floor. Your sales and used car managers stay focused on selling, not sourcing.
- More places to find cars. We buy at wholesale auction sites and dealer-to-dealer sites, based on your store's needs and prior turn rate, and locate specific vehicles quickly.
- The hard-to-find car. Not the one sitting on every lot in town.
- Judgment from 1993 on. Decisions from an experienced franchise manager/dealership owner.
- A cost you know upfront. A fixed flat fee per vehicle. Not a markup, and not a percentage of the purchase price or retail selling price.
- One itemized invoice a month. At the beginning of each month, for the prior month's purchases.
- Advice on what's already on your lot. A buyer's-eye look at your website listings and pricing.
Books are guides, not gospel
"Books are guides but not gospel. It takes knowledge of cars to see when a car appears on the wholesale market with a very high scarcity number that there will be no competition for this unique model."
Kevin BuehlerWhat software can and can't do
Software is a priceless tool. It can't purchase for you automatically. It can't dig deeper into a CR report to read between the lines and spot potential issues. It's also color-blind; it doesn't rank based on popular color combinations.
"We are strong proponents of Cox's vAuto and Stockwave Platform in addition to iPacket. We were using Stockwave when it was called Auction Genius, a better name for what it actually does. We stay away from auction houses that are not on the Stockwave Platform."
